Tournament Win for Beaches and
Renegades in Ohio.
November 15th, 2004

After losing in the finals last year in the
Autumn Classic in Ohio to the North
Carolina Trailblazers the
Beaches/Renegades won the 2004
Classic defeating the St. Louis Red
Raiders. Sarah Caza, Loise Koski, Linda
Belanger and Susanne Lawson headed
to Cleveland Ohio and joined the Indy
Renegades and marched to a
Championship game win 3-2.
The girls from both squads skated with
all they had in the tournament.

In the round robin part of the tournament
the team went 3-0 taking all but 1 point
out of a possible 15. This enabled the
team to go to the championship game
with a lot of confidence.

In the finals the Beaches/Renegades
faced a tough opponent out of St.
Louise. After a scoreless first period the
team got on the board with a pretty goal
from center Sarah Caza, they were then
able to pad the lead with a short handed
second period goal. The St. Louise Red
Raiders team did not let down and
scored late in the second to narrow the
gap. A third period goal by the
Beaches/Renegades put them up by 2
again and they were able to hang on and
post the Tournament victory with a 3-2
win.

Sarah Caza was named the teams MVP,
with one game seeing the fleet footed
Caza score 6 of the teams 8 goals.
Linda Belanger was solid on left wing
helping the team with her tough corner
play, passing and solid backchecking.
Louise Koski stood tall and made the
saves necessary in net notching a 4-0
record, while Susanne Lawson defended
the blueline she saw her brightest
moment when she got to meet her idol
Racheal Ray from 30 Minute Meals on
the Food Network at the airport on the
way home.

"We wish our whole team from the
Florida Beaches could have experienced
this tournament", commented Susanne
Lawson. "These types of venues provide
so much excitement and a different level
of competition then we normally see in
our league play", she continued.

Louise Koski when reached for comment
could only say "that tournament
rocked", she then thanked her team for
the 125th time for letting her be a part of
the tournament win.
